Princess Interview
with Ian Usher
"I heard Princess was performing at Butlin's 80's
weekender in Skegness so I went along and couldn't believe it when I
checked the line up and saw her name. She looked amazing and sounded
great! She sang soul hits of the 80's including two of her own songs
(Say I'm Your Number One and After The Love Has Gone) and
I was lucky enough to go backstage afterwards and meet her. I told her
about the rumours of her death (which she loved) and asked if she would
she do an interview for cafe80s to which she agreed immediately. I made
the arrangements with her brother and manager Don and invited questions
from the cafe80s messageboard.
Having done the interview I have to say that Princess is wonderful and
SO friendly ... so not bitter about anything, and so amused at her
'death'! She spoke very highly of her time at PWL and didn't seem to
regret leaving there at all. She's happy within herself and is working
with some soul legends at the moment.
I was a little nervous having never done a phone interview before, but she
was cool and very easy to talk to. I hope you enjoy the interview and look forward to reading
your comments on the cafe80s messageboard."
