A new star is set to Shine
Manchester-born bad boy turned Shine MC releases his rap version of the
Isaac Hayes song Shaft on Monday, August 26.
The rapper, who was born to a Mancunuan mum and a Jamaican dad, is a
summer signing for Coliseum.
Listing influences ranging from Run DMC to soul god James Brown, from
Public Enemy to Bob Marley and Michael Jackson to Big Daddy Kane, his
music should be a colourful combination of sounds.
But the road to the top is a rocky one. Shine fell in with the wrong
crowd and recently spent some time at Her Majesty's Pleasure for growing
herbs of the illegal variety.
However while Shine was in prison he had the time to work on his single
and was snapped up by Coliseum Records after his release.
Renowned for his optimistic outlook on life, this rapper could become
the latest star from Manchester to shine in the world of music.
