* Just the fax Tina Cousins was only 19 when her looks swept her far
from the English seaside town where she grew up and into the glamorous
world of international modelling. Cousins caught the attention of Pete
Waterman, who has worked with such stars as Kylie Minogue, and recorded
Mysterious Times, which was a huge European hit. Her debut album,
Killing Time, is out in Australia tomorrow, and she will be performing a
number of club shows in Sydney next week.
1. Describe your perfect Sunday.
Loads of munchies, crisps etc, sitting in bed watching a black-and-white
movie. If I'm in a very extravagant mood, it would be accompanied by
champagne.
2. What three things would you take to a desert island?
A beautiful man, eyelash curlers and lip gloss.
3. Who is your favourite musician?
Burt Bacharach.
4. Would you like to write your own songs one day?
I already do.
5. Can you eat what you want, now that you're a singer and not a
model?
Yes.
6. You play heaps of club shows. Do you enjoy clubbing in your spare
time?
Yes, but because I lead such a hectic life, when I do have any spare
time I just try and relax a bit at home.
7. The first Tina Cousins hit in Australia was Thank Abba For The
Music. Are you an Abba fan?
Yes, when I was young I used to listen to them a lot and do the whole
bit in front of the mirror with a hair brush and my best friend - she
was the dark one, and I was the blonde one.
8. What do you do to unwind?
Work out in the gym.
9. You are holding a dinner party. If you could invite three people
(living or dead), who would they be and why?
Elvis, Kenneth Branagh and Madonna - I admire them all.
10. Does sex sell?
Of course it does.
