POP CONFESSIONS...TINA COUSINS
What are your memorable showbiz moments?
"Early in my career as a model I found myself in a Rolling Stones video.
I had to dive into a swimming pool fully clothed - it was great fun but
by the end of the day I was freezing cold. To top it all Mick Jagger was
really rude and pushed me - so I pushed him back.
"My modelling career took a radical change at a fashion show where the
organisers had booked a singer who never arrived. The woman in charge
came backstage in a panic asking whether any of us models could sing. I
was the only one confident enough to volunteer but I can't say I wasn't
nervous, there were 1,000 people out there.
"However I got a rousing reception - and my musical career had
begun."
What has been your scariest experience?
"I was in Puerto Rico with Sash to perform the single Pray when
Hurricane George hit the island. We had to rush to the airport to get
the last plane out before they closed the island. There were people
crying in the departure lounge, it was awful.
"On my return to London I'd been expecting to fly to Kazakhstan in the
former Soviet Union. Apparently, they are big fans over there but the
concert was unfortunately cancelled."
What's your favourite aspect of the music business?
"I love singing in clubs - some nights I've performed in four different
clubs!"
Tina's new single Forever is released on June 14.
