It's a hit from Cantona
ERIC CANTONA is expected to earn an estimated £500,000 for making a pop
music album with the producer Pete Waterman, who helped Kylie Minogue
and Jason Donovan to recording success.
Waterman, who spent a year persuading the Manchester United player to
sign a deal, says his philosophy will make "great" avant-garde music.
"We will be using Eric's poetry, his ideology and I see it as being very
experimental, Waterman said.
"He can sing. I wouldn't say he's Frank Sinatra and I don't think you
should be looking at it as a singing project. He isn't going to be
singing My Way or No Regrets like Piaf. This is very much Eric's
project, it is not me trying to make a record for us. This is him making
a record for him."
