IN FASHION MEN & WOMEN (USA), FALL 1993
Sing out, sister
Now more than ever, the girls of Boy Krazy are mad about
music.
"I was dancing with Chris Isaak, and he said he liked my fashion
sense," says Kimberly Blade of teh stylish super-girl group Boy Krazy.
This sounds like a schoolgirl's dream come true. But her Bandmates
Josselyne Jones and Ruth Ann Roberts know better, for Kimberley, a brassy
red-head, is a self-described "fashion geek". Josselyne, sultry and
self-assured, gets fashion tips from her mom, a former model, while Ruth
Ann, the youngest at 17, is "totally into clothes" and helps the others
with their look.
As for the group's music, they contribute equally to their
successful sound, sharing the vocal chores. After three years, a #1
single, "That's What Love Can Do", and a hit album, Boy
Krazy (Next Plateau), under their designer belts, the three international
pop stars (an original fourth member has left the group) are seasoned pros, yet
very normal. "I cried when we met Duran Duran", admits Kimberley. "I
couldn't even talk." Speechlessness is rare for the girls of Boy Krazy,
but talent surely abounds.
