Pop guru in the writ parade as former accountant sues
Pop tycoon Pete Waterman - the man behind the musical careers of
Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan - is being sued for more than
£370,000 by his former accountant.
Chartered accountant John Walters, a partner with London firm
Winters, has issued a High Court writ against Waterman, famous as
one of the Stock Aitken & Waterman triumvirate who produced many
number one hits in the 1980s, and against his company Pete
Waterman Ltd.
Walters is seeking £352,500 for work he would have carried out
had he not been sacked, £17,890.56 for work he has not been paid
for, and for damages for breach of contract, according to the
writ.
Despite an agreement to pay Walters £5,000 a month plus VAT, the
writ claims that Waterman's financial controller, James Grigor,
terminated it in breach of contract in December.
